The Edge

We are tetering on the edge right now.

Web 2.0 technologies are bubbling over, yet no one has the solution NOW!

The solution I am referring to is an ultimate Webtop that enables seamless access both public and private to your personal storage. A world where every file has metatags and where all media content is instantly scalable to flow through datapipes of all sizes.A flickrization of all files. A Youtube for life. A world where your storage limitation is the size of your personal network RAID array.

While uber-giant Microsoft is too gumpy to get anything launched, the rest of the world is scrambling to change the way our global network of computers operates.

Look out Cuban. Look out Box.net.
WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT IS MORE STORAGE AND BETTER ACCESSABILITY!

Maxtor's new Fusion product claims to be an AJAX based web 2.0 app that offers products to "Personalize, Organize and Socialize" the data on your personal 500 GB HD. This could be the solution that we have all been waiting for, yet maintaining local storage is a quite dangerous. Ideally, I would prefer to have my data (all umteen terabytes of it) stored in several secure server locations. You know those fireproof earthquake-proof rooms in the basement of Virtucon.
